Windscreen seal

Hi all together!

I´m on the way to finish my Midas MK2. But now I am searching for a new front screen rubber. The old one was in very bad condition and I did throw it away, without keeping a piece for demonstration. Which one does fit and where can I get one?

It's from the Reliant Robin. Best of luck! Apparently a Mini one can be used at a pinch.

Thank you very much for your fast answer!

I think it´s not possible to get a new Relinat Robin windscreen-sealing. I did find a webshop where they sell different rubbers per Meter.

http://www.persicaner.at/

I think windscreen Profile Nr: WS 39 will fit quite well. ?

That depends if gap E (5mm on WS39) is wide enough for the glassfibre structure. That's usually where it goes wrong. I don't know what the thickness is of the window edge, but it should not differ too much from the gap, else the seal won't fit properly and you won't be able to press the "locking" rubber in.

If it is a Reliant Robin/Rialto screen, then try Reliant parts suppliers:
http://www.reliantpartsworld.co.uk
or
http://www.grahamwalker.co.uk

Failing that Edgware Motor Accessories supply screen rubbers - http://www.rubbertrim.co.uk - but you'll need to know what the profile is.

I thought the screen was from a Fiat 126, or am I mixing up my cars?

Best wishes
Mike W

I also think that the windscreen is from a Fiat 126, but i did order a seal from this car and it does not fit at all !

The thickness of the windscreen is about 5,62mm so gap E should be 5mm or 6mm. Thickness of the fibreglassstructure, where the sealing shoult fit in ( arround the windscreen) is between 2,7mm and 3mm. So I ´m not shure if Profile Ws 39 or profile W 6053 is the best choice (on www.persicaner.at -> produkte -> Gummi und Kunststoffprofile ->sonderprofile.)

Profile W6053 is quite the same as the profile of the MIni sealing ( modern type from 1991)

What the screen was intended for is irrelevant, the screen on the convertible is bonded in but it's still a Fiat 126 screen.

The 'A' dimension when fitted on the car is 31mm.

Hi! I'm also interested in a new screen seal. Is the windscreen definately a Fiat 126? Do you also know what car the hatch seal and door seals are from?
Anyway how did you progress with the front seal?
Cheers, Dave.
